Solution
To meet Nelden Industry’s needs, Camozzi Automation contributed to the creation of the Ultraclean Urano Cans monoblock by supplying a targeted selection of high-performance components.
At the heart of the solution, we find the valve islands Series D equipped with the patented CoilVision® technology, designed to control the filling heads. This technology enables real-time data collection and analysis on valve operation, allowing for predictive diagnostics and ensuring maximum uptime.
The valves communicate through the PROFINET protocol, ensuring a constant and reliable dialogue with the control system of the plant. This integration enables precise monitoring of operations and optimal coordination of the different filling phases.
To complete the setup, FRL units of Series MX with quick exhaust safety valves Series MX Safemax were supplied, which are essential to protect the system and for process quality.
The monoblock is also equipped with a C.O.P. (Clean-Out-of-Place) automatic sanitization system, which ensures high levels of hygiene for non-product-contact parts, complying with the most stringent food & beverage standards.
Results
Thanks to the integration of Camozzi Automation solutions, Nelden Industry built a high-performance system capable of reaching a productivity record of 60,000 cans/hour (500 ml format).
The use of valve islands Series D with CoilVision® technology and PROFINET communication combined reliability and innovation: predictive maintenance reduced machine downtime, while advanced diagnostics helped prevent issues and extend the service life of components.
The system now combines speed, hygiene, and advanced process control with real-time IIoT monitoring, remote troubleshooting, and upgradable functionality, ensuring long-term efficiency and continuity.
From this collaboration also the idea emerged of developing a compact pneumatic valve manifold, designed for future applications to make the system even more modular and scalable.
These results have strengthened the strategic partnership between Nelden Industry and Camozzi Automation, paving the way for future developments focused on servitization and the implementation of AI-based solutions to further optimize production processes.
